Anyone can write for Follow-up Stories provided the content is explanatory, having timeless elements, invoking collective memory and relevant in nature. The writing may be on political, cultural, academic, socio-economic or environmental issues but it must be contemporary and relatable to a common Hindi reader.
We do not entertain…
- Press release, sponsored research reports and grant-aided academic papers;
- One-sided and partisan opinions;
- Writing for the sake of writing;
- Advertorials and sponsored features;
- Cold stories without layers and contradictions;
- Traditional book/film reviews;
- Celebrity interviews;
- Data stories, fact-finding reports (until and unless relevant);
- Book excerpts (until and unless unpublished, exclusive and relevant).
How to pitch?
If you want to pitch an idea, just write a small synopsis in about 250 words and mail it at followupstories@gmail.com including your introduction and some links to published work, if any. We will review the synopsis and contact accordingly.
Please note…
Our response may take time from a couple of days to a couple of weeks because this website runs entirely on the unpaid labour and subject to its availability. So pitch and sleep over, please! We will follow, that is for sure.
